Souvenirs swapping between book bloggers with #SFATW

Good morning friends, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far. September is almost here, and with it…some exciting surprises on the blog, starting with… Souvenirs From Across The World! Thanks to your sweet answers to this little project of mine, I’m making this a regular feature, so keep an eye on the blog in the coming weeks!

➡️To give you a taste of what’s coming, you can already read the master post : What is SFATW ?
➡️ Head over here to find the themes of every blog post for the coming months, starting September, 11th!
➡️ Finally, check out the ideas’box if you are thinking about sending gifts to other book bloggers.

Alright, this blog post isn’t meant to bother you with technical details, but to share what happened during the first try of this feature, and, hopefully, making you want to participate in the next round of Souvenirs From Across The World. Kind of a #shamelesspromo here, but also a way of saying, I LOVE ALL OF YOU.

🌏 From Brazil to Malaysia, Canada to France, U.S.A to England, Australia to Ireland, I travelled a lot thanks to each and every blogger who took time to contribute to that feature.

I want to thank a THOUSAND times everyone who managed to send souvenirs across their country, across the world, and those of you who shared their experience on Twitter. You guys are the absolute BEST. Without further ado, I wanted to share with you a bit of their adventure, and what some incredible bloggers received.

The gifts …

Donna's gifts

💻 The sweet Jesalin, Fernanda and Donna shared their experience with Souvenirs From Across The World on their blogs as well! You can check out their recap here , here and here.

Once again, thank you for your thoughtful gifts, your generosity and overall awesomeness. Without you, this little idea would be nowhere, so THANK YOU 😘.

Get ready for the next round of Souvenirs From Across The World, starting this September with the blog post, and in October until December for the souvenirs exchange! I hope you’re as impatient as I am. Are you going to participate? Let me know in comments! 💬

    1. Aww thank you, I’m so glad you’re interested in the idea! I put all the links in my blog post for more info. The blog posts talking about your country will start on September 11th, and if you’re interested to participate in the souvenirs exchange as well, it’s going to open as precised in the schedule link in my blog post as well, beginning of October 🙂 Thank you!

  1. I’ll do my best to participate! 😀
I can’t wait to publish my post, but silly me, I had no time to work on my blog today. Anyway, I took plenty of pictures so that you’ll stop wondering about the content of my package, haha! I’m so relieved Beth liked at least the food I sent xD

    1. I hope you will be able to, both to the blog posts and the souvenirs swapping! As precised in the schedule, the latter doesn’t start until October, and you’ll again have time to decide and everything…. 🙂
AHHH I am WAY too excited to see the content of your package ahah, I can’t WAIT!! Give me a hint? Please?

  2. I got my box the other day, and I know Donna got hers as well because she was saving it until I got mine (I don’t know how she did it! I don’t think I would have been able to wait)
I really loved everything she sent, although I will admit I have already eaten some of the chocolates before I managed to take any photos! Seriously as soon as any chocolates come near me they’re pretty much gone in the next second. But I will be combining my SFATW box with my July/August book haul so you’ll be able to see what I got at the beginning of the next week. I’m gonna use the bank holiday weekend to take pictures and everything! 😀
I really loved this feature, and I had such a lot of fun as well! I’ll definitely be taking part again but maybe not in September, need to save up some of my money first. Maybe I’ll do alternate ones or something! 😀

    1. Ahh I don’t know how Donna managed to wait either, haha, I couldn’t have. And chocolates? OH YES, I feel like I’m going to love everything that you got in your box! I can’t wait 😀
Well maybe it wasn’t clear (it’s more precise in the schedule), but the souvenirs exchange is starting again in October. You can subscribe to it starting October, and send your souvenirs until December, so this leaves plenty of time. The souvenirs exchange is going to be an exceptional event, once or twice a year at most 🙂 September 11th is the return of the blog posts about all of our countries 🙂
Thank you so, so much! 😀

      1. I definitely couldn’t have! But I didn’t have to test myself because so soon as mine arrived I tore into it (but not literally because I wanted to be careful of everything inside!)
In that case I’ll have to check out the schedule when I’m next on my laptop! I’m not sure why but for some reason I thought this would be a monthly event! But it’s great you’re making it more exclusive (I think that’s the right word) makes it feel more special when you do get your box! 🙂

      2. Haha, well I would have done the same thing , I am way too impatient to open packages everytime I get one 😀
Of course! It’s the blog posts that are scheduled monthly, the souvenirs exchange thing is planned out over the course of a few months, and will happen as I said probably just once or at the most twice a year 🙂 This is what I wanted yay, to make this exchange special 😀

      3. Whenever I know somethings arriving for me I will text someone I know is home and ask if a package has arrived for me. Even if I know I can’t open it I still need to know if it’s arrived or not! 😀
Ahh OK, that’s probably where I got a little mixed up, I’m definitely looking forwards to seeing more of the blog posts. I loved reading about people’s home counties a lot last time! 🙂

  3. It’s so awesome to see what everyone got and how they liked it! I am definitely going to do a whole post on what I got from Sush once it arrives 🙂
I am not sure I can participate in the exchange again, but I will sure try to at least a blog post. I love the feature you created!

    1. I can’t wait for you to get your gifts, and I hope you’ll enjoy it! 🙂
As it’s written in my schedule post, the subscriptions for the exchange only start in October, up until December. And I’m not going to make this a too regular thing, it’s going to be just once a year – twice, at most! – . Anyway I understand if you can’t participate, it would be so great to read one of your blog posts about your country again though 🙂 Thank you so, so much, I’m so happy you enjoy it ❤

  4. Yay! I’m glad that #SFATW is back! I think I’ll be skipping the souvenir part this time around. I don’t have any income right now 😳. But I’ll definitely be participating in the blog post part 🙂

  5. Oh, how fun! And what a great way to make new friends or become closer to fellow bloggers. Receiving the packages must have been a thrill 🙂 I’m happy to see you’re continuing this feature. Hope it continues to be a success!

    1. Thank you so, so much for the support! I’m really glad you like the idea, and seeing all of these wonderful gifts made me so happy. I hope you’ll want to participate to this feature someday, to the blog post part, or the sending souvenirs part 🙂 Thank you so much, once again! ❤

  6. Yay!!! I’m so happy this feature is back 😊😊 I’ll definitely be participating again! I think I’ll even contribute with some souvenirs this time too. I hope whoever I get paired with likes chocolate because there’ll be A LOT of Tim Tams in my gift 😂

    1. Ohh thank you Lauren! It’s SO great you might be able to participate to the souvenirs part as well! I LOVE chocolate. I’m thinking of cheating and pairing you up with me JUST to get these, I am SO bad haha. Would you be okay if I sent French chocolates and a mini Eiffel Tower in exchange? Hahahaha.

      1. Ahh, I just checked some shipping prices and it’s a lot more expensive than I thought (probably because Australia is so far away). I’ll definitely do some checking with the post office and let you know before signs up close whether I can definitely join in or not!

      2. Aww that’s too bad, but I kind of expect things to be expensive :/ Of course! I’d love to say that, maybe someone else from Australia would / will subscribe and I can pair you two together, but I have no idea 😂 I hope you’ll be able to participate anyway, and if not, well I’m still glad you are here on the blogosphere you FABULOUS PERSON ❤

      3. I thought it would be a bit pricey, but I didn’t realise just how much haha. I was expecting $15AUD maybe? But on the Australian Post shipping calculator it said $25-40AUD for Europe/UK/US which is so 😫 I’ll definitely do some checking in the actual post office though to see what my options are!
