Some awards, and what I hope are some interesting facts about myself

Hi friends, how are you? Wednesday’s here again, and, ugh, isn’t it the worst day of the week? When half’s passed, and you almost want to be on weekend, but you CAN’T, yet?! I know, life’s cruel that way. Thankfully, we have books, and awesome blogger friends to help us through the day

friends best

Since I’m talking about wonderful friends, let me take some time to mention Joan @ Fiddler Blue here, because I’ve been nominated for some awards thanks to her, and just because she is one of the sweetest person out here. Just check out her blog, leave her comments and find out her amazingness! But before, let me kidnapp you to brag in your face : I’ve been granted the Dragon Loyalty Award (which means…I’m loyal, I’m a dragon, I’m a little bit of both? I’m not sure, but I LOVE IT.), AND the Creative Blogger Award (if I’m creative, let me know. I didn’t know that about myself, but it’s so sweet to think that!). THANK YOU Joan, and thanks to all of you guys if you took time to read this. I’m chatty, and I’m sorry about that. So let’s move on, shall we?

  1. I wish I could do the whole Photoshop thing too. It is so expensive! There is actually no way that I could afford it right now.

I am the anxious type too. I feel your pain. I also know that books and ice cream help.

    1. Me neither! 😦 And, to be honest, I don’t know if I would put money for that right now, I prefer buying books. Maybe when I’ll be a little more comfortable with my budget … I don’t know, I just WANT to know how to do pretty things, hahaha :p
Ohh, well I’m glad I’m not alone ❤ It does help, a lot! ❤
      Thank you!! ❤

  2. I love cookie dough ice cream.
I don’t really use Facebook too much either or really post anything. If I do post something, it’s something that was linked to my Instagram.
    Great post and facts! 😀

  3. Photoshop is super hard… I have an out-dated version of the software on my laptop, but I just don’t know how to use it! Picmonkey all the way! (Also, there’s a hint for bookstagram. I mean, I’m not a bookstagrammer really, but every photo can do with a bit of brightening now and again – that’s how I get a nice feed, anyway!)

    1. Ohh that’s great! It seems really hard indeed, I would love to learn, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get patient enough to do so, ahah. Ohh, thank you SO much for the tip, I’ll definitely try that!
Thank you for stopping by, Beth! 😀

If it means anything, I love your blog design. Whenever I visit your blog, it gives me a sense of ‘you’ and you are wonderful therefore your blog is wonderful. Like, I think I’ve associated the appearance of your blog with who you are, so it’s nice!! :3

  5. Thank you for the nomination. I find it really hard to come up with facts about myself as well but I’m sure I can think of a few for this post 😀
Like you I’m not a big Facebook post-er. I think the last time I posted a status myself was May. Now I just have it so other people can tag me in stuff 😀
I’m also already planning my summer holidays, anything to get away from the cold and miserable British weather, in fact I’m already planning holidays for next year XD

    1. Aww you’re welcome Beth! I can’t wait to read your post! I know, I’m having the hardest time thinking about facts, too. Haha, I’m the same about Facebook, people just tag me from time to time, but other than that, I’m a ghost haha :p
Ohhh that’s awesome, where are you planning on going?! I can understand that, ahah, the weather here is kind of awful, too!

      1. Hopefully I’ll be able to post mine soon then 🙂 maybe one of my facts should be that I’m terrible about coming up with facts about myself then. Haha.
Wordpress is pretty much the only social media platform I am active on, but I am planning to create a Goodreads and Instagram account for my blog soon. I guess start small and work my way out 🙂
Me and my friend are going to Scotland, Venice, Algarve and America this year and we’re thinking of Japan for next year! Anything to escape Britain for a little bit 😀 do you have any trips planned for this year, or next?

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yaay I hope so! Haha, I won’t hold this against you, because I do it, ALL the time. it’s just so hard to think about facts, haha.
OHHH yes you should go on Goodreads, this way we can be friends and recommend each other even MORE books :p
Oh wow, that’s a LOT of travelling, that’s awesome, how do you do it?! 😀 I do, I’m going to Paris in two weeks, this summer I don’t know where I’m going yet, but I’ll be gone at least twice, and I can’t WAIT to get away a bit 😀

        Liked by 1 person

      3. There’s only so much I can write about myself without being really generic (blue eyes, brown hair, etc.)
I have a week off from work soon so I’ll definitely create a Goodreads account then. I keep meaning to and I keep putting it off. Never do today what you can do tomorrow is my motto 😀 but yes, when I have an account I’ll friend you and we can definitely recommend more books for each other to read 😀
I don’t tend to save anything over the year all my money goes on holidays! But me and my friend try and budget as much as possible. Paris will be nice though, especially in the Summer, and yeah it’s always nice to get away a bit isn’t it 🙂

      4. I agree…when I get nominated for these awards, I always try to be original, but then completely fails, because well, I’m just an average person haha :p
Ohhh awesome, well I’ll remind you to create an account, you can count on me for that :p Goodreads is just perfect for us bookworms, I don’t know how I’d do without it now :p
YES, me too! I save a lot, except when I buy books, haha, but that’s another story. I really love to plan holidays 😀 I hope you’ll share some of your adventures, when you go away! Do you know when you’re going to leave, yet? in the summer, or before? 😀

      5. Yeah, same here, there’s only so many interesting facts about myself I can actually dig up 😀
I think if I haven’t created one by the middle of March I may need reminding 🙂 I have a sucky memory but I should be able to remember this, it’s been on my to-do list for a while now. But yeah I imagine it is perfect for when blogging 🙂
I think and budget for buying books but so far it’s not sticking. Oh I’m the same, when me and my friend go away I normally take care of all the details like that. We’re going to Edinburgh over the Easter bank holiday, Venice in May sometime, Algarve in June/July, and I think possibly New York in December (Christmas shopping!) I’ll definitely share some pictures when I get back as well 🙂

      6. Ohh, well I’m sure you’ll find out some interesting stuff anyway, 😉
Well I’ll be there to remind you, don’t worry 😉 Oh WOW, that’s some amazing travelling here, you’re so lucky. I wish I could go away all the time, too, but well, I’ll wait to be unemployed soon to do that hahaha.
I can’t wait to see all of those pictures already 😀

      7. I’m trying to think of the same facts in the back of my mind, I’ll be able to find a few 😀
My friend and I always come up with load of places we want to visit, coming up with the money and the time is the harder part, but I’m really excited for pretty everything this year (especially New York, I’ve been there before and it’s one of my favourite places in the world!)

        Liked by 1 person

      8. I’ve pretty much got a list, and to be honest I think the list consists of every country on Earth! Oh but yeah, it’s so easy coming up with places to go to, my friend and I can decide on five holiday locations in five minutes once we start!
I’ve wanted to go back to New York ever since I left 😀 and it’ll be great at Christmas time, so much to see and buy! Hopefully you’ll get to go back sometime soon as well!

  6. haha loved this- love how chatty you are! Yup always have to have a book in my bag too. And I only use Facebook to message people and store my photos- but I never post on there- I just don’t like it for that. I have glasses too- but I rarely wear them (and I guess it’s not so obvious from my avatar :p ) Me too! I constantly want to redesign my blog or do different things but haven’t done much about it… yet. But I do love the design of your blog! I really should work on Indesign and photoshop too. Ooh what holiday are you planning? So far my friends have been too haphazard about planning where to go away- but then again I have just been away!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Aww thank you, I guess I’ll chat some more then :p I use Facebook to keep in touch with some people, but other than that, I rarely post anything. To me, it feels like the kind of social media where people brag about their fantastic job/travel/holiday/relationships, and it just annoys me.
Oh well I’m glad I’m not alone! I like how simple your blog looks, it’s great to read posts on it 🙂
Thank you so much! We should coach each other for photoshop and indesign, maybe we could learn together ahha :p
I don’t know yet, just thinking about where to go this summer, doing pre-planning and budget, haha, that’s what fun is like for me (I AM crazy, I know…)
      Thank you !! 😀

      1. Haha I chatted away in the comments- so clearly we’re in the same boat! Yeah exactly- though I am guilty of the travel part, just cos that’s the best place for me to store my photos (that said, I don’t think many people care except me and a few friends) But it always gets on my nerves so much when people just post endless things about their lives- for some people I pretty much know the ins and outs of their relationship- and I don’t want to know all that!
Thanks very much 🙂 That’s one of the main reasons I haven’t changed it- I don’t want to overcomplicate it.
We definitely should :p Although not sure how much help I’d be- I used to use photoshop all the time, but now I’m so out of practice. And Indesign completely loses me!
ah awesome! haha the pre-planning I get! (budgeting not so much 😉 )
        You’re welcome!! 😀

      2. Haha, well I love it, I LOVE when we can talk like that in comments, it’s just what makes blogging so great! 😀
That’s exactly it!! I feel like people share too much info on Facebook, and I just, don’t want to know about it all, ahah.
Sometimes, I find some blog designs gorgeous, but then, when I think about it a bit more, I’m telling myself, this is going to be WAY too complicated, and sometimes simple is just the way to go 😀
Haha, well I don’t know either, but I guess if you ever start using photoshop again, and I do too, at least we can complain to each other if we don’t understand a single thing, hahaha

  7. YAS, Team Twitter. Facebook is okay and all but I find I can’t fully express myself- Twitter is the place where all my controversial thoughts and rants are given words to. 😛
I can’t afford Photoshop either. -.- But I found this alternative which is basically the same thing. It’s called GIMP and it’s free to download. I make all my graphics on that. Granted, they’re sloppy since I’m still starting out but it’s a great platform to start dabbling with things. 🙂 x

I can totally relate to your Bloglovin’ problem. I too, still have no idea whatsoever of how it’s actually used. 😛 And I love your blog design!! I think it’s great that bloggers leave something (intentionally or not) from themselves in their blogs, designs, or posts, and I can see that in yours!
Amazing post. Congrats on your awards!! ❤

  9. Welcome to the “I can’t work Bloglovin'” club! I have no idea what I’m doing on that front. I also much prefer Twitter to Facebook. Ooh snap I wear glasses too, I love looking at people’s glasses, there are so many good ones out there. Hmm a question…if you could personally witness anything -from history or present-, what would you want to see?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Ohh there’s a whole club, well I’m glad to join 😀 You’re right, and glasses people wear clearly shows something about their personnalities…well, it depends, but I don’t know, it’s a great accessory I think, even if, to be honest, I’d love to have great vision :p
Ohh wow, that’s such an interesting question, I feel like I’m going to come out with a boring answer…I’d obviously want to see the most remarkable moments in my country’s history, but some are terrifying, too, haha, so I think I’d rather live with my time.. If I could come up with one moment from the past, it would be like, the actual moment where people watched tv for the first time, because I wouldn’t imagine my reaction, and people’s reaction at seeing this. It seems SO normal right now, but back then, it was quite a revolution, haha :p

      1. I like to think my glasses say something about me which might sounds a bit contrived but whatever. Great vision would be nice, maybe I could just wear statement glasses then!
Ooh that’s such a good answer. Everyone’s reaction would be funny but the quality would be horrendous haha! Along the same lines, I think it’d be so interesting to be there for when the first movie played and everyone thought the train on the screen was about to squish them all. I think witnessing a day in either the 20’s or 1890’s would be so fascinating too. It’s fun to think about all the things you could possibly see isn’t it?

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Oh, don’t worry, I do think the same thing about my glasses, haha, I hope it’s true in some way 🙂
Haha, oh yes that’s such a great idea, too! I can’t imagine the reaction people had at that time, but I’d love to witness it -and have the same feeling, too, of endless possibilites! Now, when we see something new, I feel like we’re just, “meh, okay”, haha. It’s really fun, yes! 😀

  10. I really related to facts #2 & #2. I get a mini-panic attack if I don’t have a book lined up, ready to go when I’m nearing the end of my current read. When I left Facebook for Twitter, it took me a little while to adjust, but now I find Twitter much easier to use. I like how it’s easier to find people, quicker to use, and how you can organize folks you’re following into lists.

  13. Love this post just because I loved learning more about you, Marie! Don’t worry, I am certain that we are all anxious about our layout and posts. Publishing discussion posts give me the most anxiety actually. And, oh my gosh, me too! I don’t really like Facebook but that’s because I created one when I was twelve. Yes, I don’t know what I was thinking… So I have so many embarrassing things at the beginning of my timeline but I don’t bother deleting any of it. I rarely use that platform (literally like once a year). XD

    1. Aw thank you so much Summer, I’m happy you liked it! I have to say, I always feel a bit shy to share things about myself, so.. Oh yes, discussion posts are a bit stressful, because well, sharing your opinion is a great thing, but I’m always scared people would be annoyed at what I have to say.
Hahaha, oh I’m so glad I’m not alone in this, I have embarassing things too, I don’t know why I ever put up those status years and years ago, and I don’t want to go back, haha.
Thank you so much Summer!! ❤ ❤
