Hi bookish friends, how are you? I hope you’re having a great week so far. I’ve been nominated by the lovely Ashley @ Socially Awkward Bookworm for the Book Fangirling Award. If you don’t know her, well, you’re definitely missing out! Ashley is one of the best people I’ve met, so go check out her blog right away!
Well, I’m not going to keep any secrets from you, when it comes to books, and especially ones I LOVE, I will fangirl about it ALL the time. Yes, I apologize. So here goes, let’s answer some questions, because that’s what we’re here for, right? 🙂
THE RULES
- Create a post to accept your award.
- Add the blog award button into your post and put it on the side of your blog as a widget. Visit fangirling for the award button.
- Answer the questions I have below.
- Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
- Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.
And now, on to Ashley’s questions !
1. What book did everyone like and you hated?
I don’t know if everyone loved it, or not, but I have to say I had a hard time reading The DUFF, by Kody Keplinger. I wasn’t fond of the main character, to be honest, I couldn’t stand her so much, which made this reading this much harder.
2. Book/s that put you in a ridiculous reading slump.
It’s funny, I don’t think I had a really big reading slump for, I don’t know years! I guess I’m really lucky. So for this question, if you’ll excuse me, I’m just gonna go with, the book that put me in a state where I can’t stop thinking about the story, therefore where I can’t focus on another book. It’s not a young adult book, but I’m thinking of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, because, damn, that book just leaves you thinking, it’s crazy!
3. Name a book you wish more people knew about
Right now, I’m thinking about the Awaken series, by Katie Kacvinsky. I don’t think I’ve met a lot of people who have actually read this series, the whole three books, I mean. I admit it, I haven’t read the last book in the series because it’s only on ebook (but I’m going to very soon!!). Anyways, I think this is such a good book, with amazing strong characters and a interesting, chilling world-building. Because it seems so real.
4. Name a book/s you wish they’d turn into a movie.
I would have loved to see the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver as a movie. That would have been fantastic. The Mara Dyer series would make a chilling movie, too. In fact, it’d be so scary I’m not even sure I’d have the guts to go see it on the big screen, haha!
5. Favorite booktuber/s?
It’s funny, I actually don’t watch booktubers. At all. I don’t know if I’m the only one? I’ve been into the book blogging community for almost a year now, and I’ve only read reviews and followed bookish people on blogs, twitter and goodreads, mostly. Maybe I should start watching booktubers, too? I’ve been thinking about it, but I wouldn’t have time to read, then, at all, haha. If you have any suggestions, please, let me know!
For this award, I want to nominate the following extraordinary blogs and people right here :
Kat @ The Impossible Girl
Amy @ Book Enthral
Trisha Ann @ The Bookgasm
CW @ CW Reads
Jenna @ Reading With Jenna
Jordyn @ J. Bookish
Alice @ Arctic Books
AND YOU, if you want to answer my questions!!
And I would love to know their answers to those questions :
1.If you had to recommend one book to get someone into reading, which book would it be?
2. What was your favorite book as a child?
3. Which book wouldn’t you like to see as a movie, EVER?
4. Which book adaptation did you love? Even more than the book itself, or not?
5. If you were to read only books from one single author for the rest of your life…who would be the lucky winner?
I am not a huge fan of the DUFF either, so you are not alone in that 😉
As far as booktubers go, my favourites include PolandandbananasBOOKS, Katytastic, JessetheReader, Padfootandprongs07, Ariel Bissett, Benjaminoftomes and bangadybangz. If you need more than those, I am sure I can come up with more hahaha
Thanks for nominating me! It’s so funny, because I got nominated for this award just yesterday haha I put awards on hold a little, but since these are actual questions and not just facts I have to come up with, I’ll try to do it soon ;D

Xtine (that’s the girl from PolandandbananasBOOKS) was roommates with Katytastic who is dating BangadyBangz. All of the people I’ve mentioned often collaborate on videos with each other and you just sort of get sucked into the whole thing. Also they have great vids about Book and Comic Cons and Xtine also about movie premieres.

Aw okay, I understand, well once you start getting to know them, it’s usually hard to stop watching those videos, you get attached, haha 🙂 I definitely will check that out! 🙂

Yep, that’s it exactly! You sort of feel like you really know some of them.
Tell me what you think once you’re a little acquainted with everyone ;)!

Thank you for the recommendations, I’ll need to check that out too, then! 😀 You’re welcome! And oh, take your time, believe me I get what it’s like to be SO late on tags and awards, it’s hard to keep up! 😦

Thanks for the tag, Marie!
So agree with The DUFF and Never Let Me Go (though the latter didn’t put me in a slump – I could not stop thinking about it, though)!
Awaken sounds really interesting! I read the summary and it says that everything is done with the computer – which is what we do now, but it was written in 2011! So I’m really interested in how an author envisioned the future back then. I think I’ll give this a go – add this to my TBR! 🙂

I absoutely loved never let me go. It really left me thinking, A LOT, I think I was confused about life and all right after reading it. It’s so crazy when a book has that effect on you! YES, READ AWAKEN!! I don’t know a lot of people who read that, and I really loved this story. I would love to hear your thoughts about this one! 😀
Thank you for your comment!! ❤ ❤

Me too! I think it was my first Ishiguro too, and the way his writing caught me off guard really, really struck me.
Haha yes I shall! I already have it on my TBR with your name on it so I know who to thank! ❤
