Top Ten Tuesday (2) : Ten books related problems I have

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Brokeandbookish. This week’s theme is Ten books related problems I have. I think I have lots of them, but well, I’m a book-obsessed, I can’t help it! Here’s a few!

1• I can’t buy just one book. I just can’t. When I’m buying books, it’s always by two, three, four…a billion? It’s so hard to stop once you start, and it’s hard for my bank account, too.

2• I stay a long time in a book’s world. For instance, when someone interrupts me while I’m reading, it takes me a while to realize what’s happening, where I am. Once I’m reading, I’m entirely inside the book.

3• I’m getting really, genuinely pissed at books being adapted into movies. I’m not saying they’re all bad, or that movies can’t bring interesting things to a book’s world. It’s just hard for me, watching my babies taken away in Hollywood’s world. And, hm, anyone else thinks it’s kind of too much, nowadays? Leave my books alone.

4• There are some books I’m dying to read. And they only come out as ebooks. I don’t own an ereader, and I love my hardcover/paperback books.  This is a real problem, I swear. Just give me those books, I want to hold them.

5•  I have lots of books, all around, everywhere. And not enough space for all of them. They hang around in my bed, on the desk, nightstand, kitchen, library… I really need a big, amazing library room.

6• I cry reading books. I admit it, I tend to get emotionnal, a lot. Not the best when you’re reading in public.

7• I read the acknowledgements, always, before I start reading a book. You don’t see the problem? Well, this page usually is too close to the ending…and sometimes my eyes get carried away. And I spoil myself the ending. Damn.

8• Every time I’m packing, I don’t know which books to put in my suitcase. It’s a real struggle, I have too many to choose from, and there are just some I can’t, not take. I always end up with two more books than I’m supposed to.

9• Books are my babies. I don’t want to bend the pages, I take care of them the best I can. It’s okay when they’re worn-out because I read them too much, but not when someone decides to put a hot tea on it to make a beautiful ring on the cover.

10• When I read a quote I like in a book, I stare at it for hours, or I can re read it a billion times. Sometimes, I read on and come back to it later. Some words are magic.

Are there some things that’d make it on your list, too ? What are your book-related problems? Let me know in comments!

  1. I can relate to so many of the things on your list.
Crying over books? Definitely! Also a bit similar for me is laughing so hard I end up crying, that’s really embarrassing in public because no one know what you’re laughing about 🙂
No. 9 too – I’m probably over-protective of my books but I do love to keep them in great condition.
